Meet our Trainers

Taylor has been working with dogs since she was 5yrs old. Her interest in training dogs as a career started with her since passed spaniel mix Zoey. She participated in agility, obedience, and trick training with Zoey.

Her interest in working with dogs then moved on to volunteering at the local humane society, and taking problem dogs headed to the shelter in from time to time, to train and place in homes. She then became a Certified Professional Trainer by completing an intensive Master Trainer course at the National K-9 School for Dog Trainers. She was then able to improve her skills while working as a trainer/instructor at National K9 School For Dog Trainers.

Over the past 7 years she also perused her passion with working dogs.  In doing so she has trained, raised, and placed many, green to fully trained working police k9s and protection dogs.  She has also trained in French Ring Sport, is currently training in Mondio Ring with her German Shepherds.

Taylor oversees, trains, and manages the trainers for No Xcuses K9 & Controlled K9.  She travels from our Maine location (Controlled K9) to our South Carolina location (No Xcuses K9) on a regular basis to work with the trainers and put on regular follow up training. Taylor also trains and works with the working dogs that come in for LE and protection purposes.

Taylor has certifications in;  On and Off Leash Obedience, Behavior Modification, Tracking, Assistance Dog Training, Police K9 Training, and more.

Kristina is a Veteran of the United States Navy. Kristina always had a desire to work with dogs and help people to have the civilized, well-mannered canine of their dreams. Kristina joined the No Xcuses K9 Team by participating in an apprenticeship program through our sister company Controlled K9, LLC.

Kristina finished her 385-hour apprenticeship program and was certified as a trainer.  Kristina is also a certified AKC CGC Evaluator. Kristina’s training started with her two dogs and evolved into her goal of helping dogs with behavioral issues to become loving trained family members, as well as working k9 development and training

Kristina started with our company back in 2015 and is the head trainer for both branches.

Alicia's love for dogs started at a young age. She grew up around police K-9's and often attended their training sessions.
Her first job was working as a dog-washer and she went on to learn grooming and all about holistic foods and treats.  One of her current interests include baking homemade treats for her three dogs at home.

After high school, Alicia got her first show dog and began competing in AKC and UKC shows where she ultimately championed. To broaden her interest, Alicia began taking her dog dock-diving and fly-ball competitions.  She truly enjoyed training her own dog for obedience, tricks, and sports, which is when she decided she would want to start training other dogs.

Her passion stems from helping dogs to become better and watching as the dog positively develops in the training process.  She loves watching a dog really engage in working and training and is excited for the impact she can make with the dog and to continue to learn herself through experiences with training and development.

Alicia has been certified as a trainer by participating in a 255hr apprenticeship with our sister company Controlled K9. Alicia started her internship with the company January 2017.

Marian Huggins CPT

Trainer

Growing up in the South Carolina, Marian discovered her lifelong passion for dogs when she received a Blue Heeler from her grandfather at 5 years of age. She would go on to work with her Heeler, Dixie Cowgirl, in obedience, agility, and herding training.
At 9 years old, she was given a Boykin Spaniel puppy by her father, a sportsman and gundog enthusiast, to be her first training project under his tutelage.  At 6 months of age, “I’m Drake 2” attended his first Boykin Spaniel Society National Hunt Test. He would complete in the Novice Division under the whistle of one of the youngest handlers competing, Marian. For years following, the pair went on to compete in more National Hunt Tests, winning the Chairman’s Cup twice, which is awarded to the Top Junior Handler in the nation.

Following this, Marian took an interest in horseback field trial bird dogs, especially English Pointers, having seen dogs not suitable for the professional field trial circuit come to her father to be hunted on local plantations or re-homed.

At age 11 for her birthday, she received her first pointer puppy from a very dear friend. Her passion expanded and she spent most of her middle, high school, and college career competing in Amateur Field Trial Club trials with a string of six or more dogs. All of the dogs she ran in trials or hunted were “wash outs” from trainers or owners with larger strings. She saw these dogs as challenges and worked to fix or accommodate their quirks and issues to win trials with them and give them a home until the ends of their lives. She was successful in her field trial pursuits, winning many awards and competitions as the only woman and handler her age.

In addition to all of the competitive achievements she has collected, Marian has trained dogs for retrieving of waterfowl and upland game, blood trailing, game trailing, pointing, and much more. She loves animals of any variety, but dogs have always been her most beloved.
Marian has been certified as a trainer by participating in a 395hr apprenticeship with our sister company Controlled K9. Marian started her internship with the company the summer of 2017 and certified with the company March 2018
